THE THERAPY PROCESS

LGBT gay and trans affirmative therapy for PTSD and anxiety
  • We begin with an 80-minute intake session to get to know you better and discuss your goals. From there, we create a personalized treatment plan, incorporating therapies like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic techniques. We focus on actionable steps and track your progress throughout our work together, always integrating neuroscience-based techniques to help regulate the autonomic nervous system.

  • The length of therapy depends on your specific goals and progress. Some clients may heal from acute trauma in as little as 10 sessions, while others with deeper, more complex trauma may work together for a longer period. We work collaboratively to assess your pace and ensure we’re meeting your needs at every step.

  • During sessions, we integrate talk therapy with somatic techniques, mindfulness, and creative arts interventions, helping you address both your mental and physical well-being. You’ll gain tools to regulate your nervous system and work through challenging emotions. We focus on actionable steps that support your personal transformation.

  • It’s helpful to come with an open mind and a willingness to engage. You may want to reflect on what brought you to therapy, any specific challenges you want to work on, and your goals for the future. Bring any questions you may have about the therapy process, this is your time to explore what will work best for you.
